Review, by emu: Written like a pulp detective novel, and a good one at that, I quite enjoyed this book. Peter Crossman has to save the world from a conspiracy to build a gate that would allow a race of demon-like things (there're not quite demons.. more like dimensional aliens) to come through and take over the planet. He belongs to a group of Catholic priests known as the "Knights of the Inner Circle," who are a highly secretive group that deals well, well, this sort of thing. It's interesting to see a book like this about Catholic priests and nuns... however, the story's nun, Mary Magdelene, was probably the weakest point in the story. She didn't act even vaguely like a nun. I suppose every story like this needs a woman, though. Despite Mary's not keeping in her nun character, Peter is a very well-written and well-thought-out priest. There's lots of little details mixed into the story and Peter's narration that reveals the author has good attention to detail and knows his stuff. He actually felt like a real priest to me, even when he was shooting people. XD; (I am Catholic, by the way.) If you want a good thriller with style, pick this book up.
